HEOR/RWE Therapeutic Area Lead – Consultant
Remote | Full-Time 6-Month Contract
About the Role
We’re hiring a hands-on HEOR/RWE TA Lead Consultant to support the evidence strategy for a launched rare disease therapy. This is an individual-contributor role — you’ll be the day-to-day evidence lead for the therapeutic area, working directly with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Clinical Development to shape the value story and close evidence gaps as the product moves through launch and lifecycle management.
Alongside strategy work, you’ll personally lead the patient-centered outcomes (PRO/COA) workstream — designing and executing real-world and post-marketing PRO data collection and analysis — rather than handing it off.
What You’ll Do
- Help define the evidence strategy and value narrative for a rare disease therapeutic area, identifying gaps and prioritizing what needs to get built
- Act as the go-to HEOR/RWE contact for cross-functional partners (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial, Clinical Development)
- Turn evidence questions into concrete, executable analysis plans
- Personally design and run patient-centered outcomes (PRO/COA) work, including Phase 3 endpoint support and real-world PRO data collection/analysis
- Contribute HEOR content to value dossiers, AMCP submissions, and HTA materials
- Support payer value proposition and budget impact conversations with Market Access
- Track the competitive landscape and translate shifts into evidence priorities
- Represent the evidence story externally with KOLs, payers, HTA bodies, and at scientific congresses
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH, or MSc) in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, health services research, public health, or a related field
- 8+ years of pharma, biotech, or HEOR consulting experience, with direct experience shaping evidence strategy for a product or therapeutic area
- Working fluency across the HEOR/RWE toolkit — RWE, PRO/COA, economic modeling, HTA requirements — enough to both execute and quality-check work
- Hands-on PRO/COA experience: endpoint strategy, content-validity/psychometric considerations, and real-world PRO data analysis
- Experience contributing to value dossiers or HTA/payer submissions
- Strong communication skills and comfort influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguity, with shifting priorities
Preferred: Experience with launch-phase HEOR for a recently commercialized product.
